I don't even remember the last time I saw a machine offer the option of
a low level format. You shouldn't ever need to do that.
Tried that!

Hi,
I think that your problem is the following:
You have installed lilo when you had rh on the box and have not removed
it before you wiped the disk. Lilo is now sitting on the bootsector of
the
drive. You are suppose to be able to remove it with
fdisk /mbr
using the windows startup disk.

Try doing a fdisk /mbr

The first comment to be made is that you can never tell where
the user is coming from on AOL. AOL uses NAT'd gateways in a few
locations, so you can trace back to the gateway but that tells you
almost nothing about where the user is located.
That said, a visualroute trace shows this gateway i
Your best bet is going to be to try to get AOL to act on it...since they
undoubtedly own the IP space (or lease it from someone else), and their
network is fairly huge, they're going to be the best source for that info.

From the category of "strange but true" computer stories... IRQ9 is
actually the cascade interrupt from IRQ2 (this allowed the 286 PCs to have
more than 8 interrupts). So, don't use IRQ9 or you will get the behavior
you describe.

Hello,
If the user who prints from your linux box (RH 5.1) hasn't got an account
on the remote printer server, then there's a bug with lpd and he can't
print.
This bug has been noticed to http://developer.redhat.com .
If you want, I have corrected it (very simply but it works). Mail me, and

Now THIS would certainly explain some things! Could you please post the
fix to the list
If you don't have the same acct names on the local and remote machines,
there's a bug in lpd which silently swallows print requests. Contact me
directly for a fix, if needed.
