Happens no matter what is going on...automount is always off.

I get this in my messages file too, I think at each boot. I think it's
because either there is no cd in the cdrom or it is not an audio cd if

if it is trying ppp1 it sounds like there is already a ppp connection up. What does
ifconfig show?
ie type
ifconfig
from the command line. it should show the local loopback connection and any other
interfaces up.
