OT: Apache blocking

How can I block direct access to images displayed on a web page? In other words, I won't want someone be able to hit the image by typing in its URL, but I do want it displayed when they load the page containing said image. -- W | I haven't lost my mind; it's backed up on tape somewhere. +-
