The I hook in the basics: CDROM, 1 HD, Video. I then check the bios
settings. After you are happy with this you can either install RedHat
after which you install any remaining hardware. Or install all hardware
first.

This acts like a Windows
Fileserver so that from XP you can read/write to your Linux server.
While in Linux you can use samba or NFS to share the files to your linux
clients.

You need to know the model and brand, (easy you can see it) but look at
