Does Linux use the ***te "filename"*** command or something similar
when one wants to do some quick editing on an ascii file? The Solaris
environment allows this command, just wondering if Linux allows the
same?

I shutdown my RH 5.0 with the command listed in the manual:
shutdown -h now

I think that RH 4.2 would allow one to boot up LILO from a
floppy...can some tell me if it is possible to boot LILO from a floppy
in RH 5.0?also how would you go about doing this?

Sorry, I probably didn't phrase my question properly
I suppose I don't understand what is going on here when we are talking
about the 1023 cylinder limit...Is there something you do during the

My friend has just started his installation of RH 5.0. He tells me
