sendmail help

Redhat 9, fresh install. Sendmail accepts connections on localhost, but not through the external IP. I'll try telneting to port 25 from another machine and I get connection refused. The problem occurs with the firewall (iptables) on and off. Any recommendations? Thanks =) -- redha

IPTables question

/etc/sysconfig/iptables has this rule -A RH-Lokkit-0-50-INPUT -s 12.224.128.149/255.255.254.0 -j REJECT Yet, 12.224.128.149 can still connect. Any idea why? Could it relate to the machine having more than one network card? I'm using eth1. Port eth0 is disabled. Is iptables assuming eth0?

Hi, I'm using sendmail I have an alias - [EMAIL PROTECTED] .. I want to restrict this email such that it only accepts from mail coming from our domain mydomain.com or from our network... everything else are blocked. Any body did this? please help... carlo

FTP Server under Firewall

Hi, I have an FTP Server running wu-ftpd and I put it inside a firewall. When I connect to the ftp server from outside the firewall, there's a bit of delay when an ftp-client establishes connection. Same with my mail server. telnet runs normally. Open ports in my firewall is 20, 21,23 and 25.

RH 7.2 not receiving email

Hi, I just installed 7.2. Is accepting mail turned off by default. Connection is refused from other host on port 25 but when i connect via localhost (127.0.0.1) connection on port 25 is accepted. How do I set my box so that I can accept mails from other hosts.. thanks carlo
