ok, i filled in my IP, Subnet, and default gateway, and it lets me activate
the device! (and it works when it boots too) unfortunatly, its still not
working, i get no light on the card, and i cant access any web pages. It
doesnt matter if i fill in anything about the IRQ or memory or I/O or not
ok, i turned it on and off again, still nothing!
how do i 'recompile the kernel with "Local APIC support" turned OFF'?

closest thing to pnp i found is 'plug and play (uh, something..)' but its
already disabled! but on the boot, it says something about pnp init

Humm, in Windows XP, if you change your computer name, you have to reboot.
I must admit, XP does a lot better with the reboot thing. You don't have
to reboot nearly as much as you did with previous versions. You still
have to do it on occasion.
You give Windows too much credit. I plugged in my

RedHat. I'm getting close to just buying a new one...

alright, i commented out the HWADDR line, it made absolutly no difference. i
did the grep command, and this is what i got:

You need no less than 6 floppies. AND, Windows doesn't check to see if
your system meets minimum specs until the last floppy. AND, I couldn't

allow them to log into my machine. The problem is that it won't compile
in 5.0. It gives me compile errors in tmp files.

Tcp is for some reason broken on my machine. The routing and
network device are configured correctly, but for some reason TCP doesn't
do anything. To test that this was the problem, I wrote both
tcp and
ny are all set like they should be. Everyone can ping me,
I can ping them, I can send and recieve talk requests but I can't make a
connection to actually talk. I can't telnet out nor can they telnet in,
but they can all telnet to each other. I think that about covers it.
