Also try running 'ldd ls' and see what it puts out.

You could also go in and modify the glibc symlinks in /lib to point to the

yes, but the '-' takes on roots environment (and thus roots full $PATH),
where leaving it out leaves you with the original users environment.
Yes, it does matter whether you use the '-' or not.
