I have found the SWAT interface displays the multitude of config options
availible for
samba in and easy to read if not understand format,and enables editing of
the smb.conf file to be a
less painful affair.

pre-sales, SWS is now included in EVERY version of RH7. The RPM comes with
every level.

I have RH 6, 6.1 and 6.2 running on IBM and Dell servers with RAID and it
works very well. I have only have 2 disks fail, but RH didn't even notice
(as it shouldn't).

I've put it on 2300's and 2400's with Mylex AcceliRAID 250 cards and with
Dell's (can't remember the name) card and have had no trouble. Same with IBM
(AcceliRAID and their ServeRAID cards). Works great and service with both
was good.

Another thing that happened is that IP's aren't being logged in the u/wtmp
file for telnet connections. They stopped logging about the same time as

I have a printer attached directly to the network, at the moment, the queue resides
on a yukky NT box, I am working on a project to use Linux to totally replace the
NT box, (no big deal), however getting samba to recognise a printer directly
on the network, is proving to be tricky.
inserting the CD, selecting Upgrade and letting it go?
