Problems with NM256 driver?

I have a Sony F150 Vaio laptop with the NeoMagic 256AV chipset. I am trying to use this with Linux 2.2.16 but I'm having a bit of trouble. On my system all I get out is some white noise from the speakers and snow on the bottom of the screen. Has anybody fought this one off before? Thanks, Eric

I'm wondering if the tripwire database is small enough to fit on a floppy. I was thinking about putting one on a physically locked floppy (so no enterprising cracker could also recreate the tripwire database AFTER modifying the files). Is there any reason why this wouldn't be necessary? Eric > --
