Hey all,
This is probably something silly, but when I upgraded to RH8.0 I noticed

I guess I need to clarify. I'm using 2 addresses from my IPS for a number

Both addresses are in fact dynamic from my provider, thus the need for

Hi All,
Anyone have a good suggestion for an ipchains firewall admin program that
has a nice GUI interface? I've tried lokkit, and the firewall adm in KDE,
but they aren't very easy to use or flexible. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
thanks

I have spent the better part of three days trying to reinstall red-hat on my

the installation tools for RedHat. The reasons for the multiple installs

The short answer is yes, you can access a M$ share from Linux. I have done
this before with the smbmount command. It basically lets you mount a
CIFS/SMB filesystem to the Linux server for local access. In my case I

I couldn't find it anywhere in the standard installation of 7.3. Was it

My guess is that you are looking for a way to start EITHER gnome OR KDE from

You used to be able to go into Xconfigurator and set GUI as the default

and set KDE as the default X service.
I think I said that right.

My setup is simply, as follows:
rc.firewall in the /etc/rc.d directory
then I add the following line to my rc.local file:
/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall
everything works great and it's launched at the end of startup routine.
this has worked for redhat 5.2, 6.0, 6.2, 7.0 and 7.1

3) How much memory will i need?
4) Is this going to be a frustrating exercise (rhetorical)?
