I have built a list of GNOME 2.4 RPMs that I wish to upgrade a RHL 9
install. However even though I have satisfied the new installation
RPMS, the old versions are still causing me issues.

My CPU usage goes to 100% whenever I do simple window tasks like
resizing, opening new windows, opening menus, etc (for any application).
It's really driving me crazy how slow it is :(
I doubt it's due to my hardware, my CPU/memory/video card is an Athlon

Are you sure it detected it as hdd and not hdc. If the drive is set to
master it will be hdc. Is the something else on the second IDE channel? How
many partitions are on the drive your looking to mount?
