If you download the latest version of the code (2020.11.27), updated a few
hours ago, then this should compile for all versions of Linux (after first
running “genMakefiles linux”, of course).

I managed to build live555 on an ubuntu 16.04 box with the
linux-no-openssl configuration,
without a hitch
Also, it looks like it should be possible to build live555 on ubuntu
18.04, without a hitch too as someone published a way to do it in a
docker container
