If you have a specific proposal for a new version of
"config.linux-with-shared-libraries” (that will work for everyone), then please
send a patch, and I’ll likely include it in the next release of the software.

In order to allow easily to cross-compile using shared libraries, do you think
it could be possible to include in config.linux-with-shared-librairies a way to
specify a cross compiler.
This could be done like in config.mingw using $(CC), $(CXX), ... or adding a
$(CROSS_COMPILE) prefix
