Yeah, that's what mine has done. I set fonts and it accepted them but
the next time I opened it they were back to the original size. The
config page shows the size I set but the actual print in the register
has reverted. But mainly I need to get rid of the green highlighter.

Try turning off system colours
It worked for me. Its not old eyes just poor contrast.
