I am a noob at resolving this type of stuff, but I have a Dell Precision
m4700. I have an Intel i7-3540m and Nvidia Quadro k2000m. I don't know
how useful this is, but the battery is busted and doesn't work. Please
help me resolve this problem. I can't open any gpu intensefy tasks such

Thank you for the update. I have temporarily removed bcmwl-kernel-source
and have installed broadcom-sta until the new release comes out. WiFi
is currently running.
It will be interesting to how the file_operations to proc_ops conversion
is dealt with in the new release (wl_linux.c

I have found that running the command "fio --name=basic
--directory=/path/to/empty/directory --size=1G --rw=randrw --numjobs=4
--loops=5" runs fine on linux-image-5.4.0-59-generic but when trying
with linux-image-5.8.0-36-generic it would freeze the system in the
"Laying out IO file"

map.html that states that Ubuntu kernel 5.8.0-36.40~20.04.1 matches
mainline version 5.8.18. I have installed 5.8.18 and it fails ! So it is
not the Ubuntu patches.
