@penalvch: I can confirm the problem still exists on 4.9.0-040900rc4-generic I also can confirm that taking the bottom of the laptop off and blowing cool air in there shuts off the fans. Monitoring CPU temp while doing this, it's around 25c - but it seems to vary, sometimes 26c, sometimes 24c.
