*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***
Public security bug reported:
It was found that due to excessive files_lock locking, a soft lockup
could be triggered in the Linux kernel when performing asynchronous I/O
operations. A local, unprivileged user could use this flaw to crash the
system.
The fix for this issue is now in upstream v3.16.7-ckt6 as: 7106dbc
The Ubuntu 3.16.0-32.42 kernel now has the v3.16.7-ckt6 updates and is
in the -proposed repository.
Would it be possible for you to test this latest kernel and post back if
it resolves this bug?
