Look in your BIOS settings for integrated graphics or on-board display.
There should be an option to enable/disable it. This would leave the
other adapter available.

It's hard to say without pinpointing the point of failure. One thing I
noticed from your system info is that you have both Intel graphics and
NVIDIA graphics. I wonder if there could be some conflict between the
two?

I ended up purchasing a new computer, and then I re-installed Ubuntu
24.10, and then my various gnome plugins, and the issue seemed resolved.
Then I installed my various software tools and the issue - the inability
to resume from sleep with an external monitor connected - came back at
some point.

Ubuntu 24.
I tried installing a couple different kernel versions, but none of them
seem to even recognize my second monitor except the one currently
running. I can only imagine that there is something else wrong, as well,
since I feel sure that these kernels _used_ to at least detect the
second monitor.

I've never messed with the kernel before. So I'll try it out first thing
on Saturday, and then I'll have two whole days to fix my computer,
before I need to use it for work again on Monday.
