[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1826800] Re: Linux kernel hard lockup

2019-05-03 Thread bje
I have since managed to work out that my laptop had developed a hardware fault, so I am 99% sure that those kernel lockups are due to that fault. The laptop has now been decomissioned, so there is not much point chasing this down further. This bug report can be closed, thanks. ** Changed in: linux

Hmm, in this case we might need your help to do a kernel bisection to figure out which commit is causing this issue: First, install git and clone the Bionic kernel tree: $ git clone git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-bionic.git Then install the tools the you need to build a kernel. $ sudo apt

No console messages that I can see (I am running X and the lockup prevented me from switching to the console). Nothing in kern.log, either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/18

Hello, What can you see when this happens? Any console messages? If you can see error traces in a console, can you provide the error message (a copy-paste is perfect, otherwise a screen photo might be OK) Thanks ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You receive
