No DHCP response e1000e

linux-image-3.13.0-8-generic_3.13.0-8.27_amd64.deb seems to be fine. As
in the networking seems to be functioning fine. Can ssh into the box
fine.
(the console crashes on this kernel not long after starting X, going to
assume this is due to having rather old user space on this box at the
moment).
Thant is good news that upstream 3.13.1 fixes this bug. The 3.13.0-7.24
Trusty kernel has been rebased to upstream 3.13.1 and is in the proposed
repository.
Would it be possible for you to test this latest kernel and post back if it
resolves this bug?

Not sure how to add the kernel-fixed-upstream tag, will have a look

Do you have Ubuntu installed on this machine, so you can test some other
kernel versions? If so, would it be possible for you to test the latest
upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds .

I think apport-collect most likely would require network access, which
funnily enough, I don't have. Maybe not even relevant for this case
either.
