I have the exact same issue with the laptop... Tried the mainline kernel at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.13-rc6-trusty/ but the behaviour was the same as with 3.12 : black screen on boot. Had to revert to 3.13 drm-intel-next and it worked OK except when screen is dimmed the l
