thanks a lot for the hard work on getting a driver for that reader.
I did get a reply from Alcor, it was along the lines of "It should be
compatible with Linux, but we do not support 3rd parties, ask your OEM (Asus,
in this case) for a driver.".

trying to modset or suspend using intel-drm-nightly from 2014-01-26 doesn't
work with my machine (UX302LG).
Though I have screen from boot using the intel-drm-nightly kernels, for me the

Tested 3.13 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.13-trusty/ had to boot in recovery mode/root console
because of Bug #1265544 device still shows as "Unassigned class [ff00]:
Device 1aea:6601" and SD Cards do not work.

The fix has been narrowed down to 16 commits from drm-intel-next on
2013-12-11. I might look into bisection sice it seem to be the only
solution to find the problematic commit, but it's a fairly important
ammount of work so I don't know when I'll do.

No, I cannot boot successfully using the 14.04 with "Enable CSM" option. For
reference CSM is only a pre-UEFI compatibility option in the UEFI :

Finally found the "Enable CSM" option of the laptop that allowed to boot from
pre-UEFI devices.
I was able to test 12.04.1 and 12.04.3 in Live mode only (didn't
install/replace my trusty install) both using the 3.2.0.29 kernel and display
was _working fine_.
Do you still require Quantal testing
Laptop is UEFI only, cannot boot/install 12.04.1 since apparently UEFI support
arrived in 12.04.2.
Also, there's no DVD drive in the laptop and I tried making a USB stick but
12.04.2+ images aren't recognized in the UEFI.
