hi all, the webcam on my Dell XPS 9320 was working until this week. I
just did the standard required system upgrades and it has stopped
working. zbarcam shows an empty black image. cheese pauses before

OK, I tried it. It still fails in the infiniband infrastructure, but
in a new way, and from an ib_core function rather than ib_mthca. There
were still a couple of shift-out-of-bounds UBSAN warnings, but then an
attempt to execute in a non-executable page, as if following a trashed

I'll note that the infiniband interface is pretty old. It is DDR data
rate, while modern ones might use QDR, FDR, HDR, EDR. It might be that
the ib_mthca driver has a regression relative to old hardware that isn't
noticeable on more recent hardware.

Thanks for investigating. I've tried again to confirm the problem still
occurs -- and it does, although sometimes it takes multiple restarts of
the hv-kvp-daemon.service for it to start successfully.
Some diagnostic information is below.

Restarting the service (sudo systemctl restart hv-kvp-daemon.service)

With acpi=off, as expected there is no suspend function, battery meter
etc. Shutdown appears to hang. The wireless card does not work (but that
