I am using the A18 bios, and the release date according to Dell US

The output of the "sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s

I am not sure about the link, it seems to suggest that it has already
been fixed in kernel 3.1.6+, but I am now up to kernel 4.4.0 and the
problem still exists.

Hello,
Sorry for the slow response, but I upgraded to Ununtu 15;10 on the
release day, and have been checking to see if the problem still exists
om 15.10, unfortunately it still exists with 15.10
I am very new to Linux in general, (just in process of migrating from
Windows 7 to Ubuntu), I am ne
Same problem on my Dell E7440. with Ubuntu 14.04.3 (installed version).
When holding my finger still on the touchpad, the cursor starts jumping back
and forth (mainly vertically) from finger location to some random location.
Updating to latest BIOS A15, and latest touchpad drivers on 17th August
As far as I can tell the problem lies in Ubuntu's Stock kernel,
therefore is connected to Ubuntu, also all the software is from Ubuntu's
repository, really all that is different is a couple of modifications to
Lubuntu such as adding some programs, changing wallpapers and textures,
ect, so my sp
I was attempting to get it working through alsa, and it appears all of
the Audio is being routed through the headphone jack for some reason.
Also The settings don't come up in the alsa mixer, and the audio wasn't
very loud.

The OS is a spinoff of Lubuntu 12.10 which I have made myself.
The kernel is 3.8.0
Still no sound.
Anyway the output is:
