patched kernel fixed it

Thank you- the suspend problem was really annoying.
Is there a way to determine, or be notified of, which kernel that patch

results. Spoiler nothing after 4.15 works reliably, and mostly doesn't
work at all.

Just tried the kernel. Ethernet (r8169) and USB ethernet (r8152) are not shown
in ifconfig. With ubuntu kernel, ethernet at least shows up there and USB
ethernet is functional.
wifi is functional in both ubuntu and khfeng kernel.
