Problem description:
I am using ubuntu 16.04LTS and after a week of installing it using dual boot
the touch-p

kernel, the NVIDIA X Server Settings applet didn't display any of the X
server info. Uninstalling the NVIDIA driver didn't fix things; the

Sorry I didn't test it yet. I had to travel and use the computer so I
did a fsck on onvme0n1p2 only, to get it working.
I thought fsck /dev/nvme0n1p2 was the same a fscking the rootfs. I do it
every time the error happens. I didn't understand exactly what you
meant.
Also I think NVME_QUIRK_NO_DEE
I apologise, but it seems as though the issue has resolved itself. I am
no longer able to reproduce the problem.

No Internet
Adding 'acpi_osi=' to /etc/default/grub solves it all for me, on an old
Dell laptop, an old Compaq nx7400 and a quite new HP G2. This seem to
fool the bios to think its a Windows OS.
Doing a 'sudo update-initramfs -u' and ' sudo update-grub' and a reboot
makes it complete.

I tried to remove but if I do also this packeges will e removed

So I did apt-get install --reinstal xserver-xorg-video-intel but nothing
has changed.
If I plug in the VGA and open a window I can see that the system see the

So... the modified SONAME is apparently needed for the specific version
of cpupower tool to depend strictly on the corresponding version of
libcpupower.so.* from the same linux-tools-* package:
$ objdump -p /usr/lib/libcpupower.so.4.15.0-10 | grep SONAME
SONAME libcpupower.so.4.15
We should notify upstream since the bug still occurs with the latest
upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug
report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue,
and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug.
