I got the laptop late on 2015 new and installed 16.04 removing the
original OS (Win10).
The issue has been there since the very first start on Ubuntu 16.04 but
Windows 10 never had issues.

The system where we had seen most of these hangs is now running kernel 4.4.0-62
(and corresponding aufs.ko module still based on 4.x-rcN-20160111).
NVIDIA driver has been updated to 361.119.

Solved by disabling the xCHI usb 3.0 on the bios. adding parameters to

The patch attached to comment #2 does not appear to be a fix for the
issue reported in this bug. Could you pls point me to an upstream fix
you might have identified that addresses this issue? I can make a best
effort in merging that patch in Ubuntu.

We have recently deployed intel NUC6i5 devices in store for POS display
and are encountering strange inexplicable freezes on several devices.
What is very strange is that all devices are freezing exactly 4h after
boot.
