I'm still testing 1c8349a17 now. I increased the number of I/O threads
to increase the change of triggering the bug. It's been running for
almost 24 hours now. I'll let it run for up to 36 hours with this I/O
load.
I agree that if 8321521 does turn out good, we would want to test
586fbce again
As far as I can tell I'm seeing the same sort of problem with a clean
install of Ubuntu Mate 16.04 on my Dell XPS 13 9343.

kdump crash feature on 32bit Xenial GA (kernel 4.4.0-21) does work most of the
times.
The issue here can be related to the CPU handling the crash, for which there is
a set of patches.
These would also cover the kdump triggered through NMI scenario.
