I disagree on the status given. It is not an invalid issue for Ubuntu
14.04 which uses a kernel of version 3.16.0-x.
The kernel delivered is erroneous and that is what is in the report.
There is also information that fix is available in newer kernels. Thus,
there can be a backport.

We've also took the latest Xenial i386 and compiled linux-next (4.5-20160318)
with the .config from the 4.4 kernel that comes with 16.04.
Although the kernel compile went without errors, the new kernel boot process is
