Haven't tried, but found a way to fix it myself. In general the problem
is, that Ubuntu still uses a setup/environment, which looks like ~15
years ago - all the bogus klibc/busybox pain! I mean, I want to boot a
workstation, not my dish washer!

It seems that Ubuntu daily is on kernel 3.16 now so (not certain
though). It would be a good test to try installing one of the daily live
CD's to see if they still reboot automatically because it's supposed to
be fixed with 3.16. Also run `uname -a` in the terminal to check which
