So its pretty clear i915 not loading is the problem from that, if you
sudo upgrade-initramfs -u -k 3.10.0-3-generic does it break the -3
kernel too? 3.11 allows invalid module parameters instead of preventing
the module from loading so whatever is broken here will be "fixed" soon
when saucy is upda

Yeah... the b43 driver somewhat worked with raring but has always been
very unstable for me. Additionally it does not support the 5GHz band on
the BCM4331 chip which would eliminate it as an alternative to the
bcmwl, even if it would become more stable.

I noticed that since Natty or Oneiric (I don't remember precisely) I have a
strange behaviour: after resuming the PC from suspend, the fan starts rotating
too fast, even if the PC is not hot. When I first had the problem, I could
solve it by (dis)connecting the power cable.
This kernel does not support a non-PAE CPU.

Today was this bug upgraded on my L520. See last row in attached dmesg. Cursor
completely disappeared until reboot.
It's horrible to have mouse freezed many times a hour... Since I started to

This bug is killing me long long years... I had the same problem with R61e, now
I have thinkpad L520. If I remember correctly, this bug is there miminally
since 8.04 or 7.10 (maybe 7.04?) when I began to use ubuntu.
It's absolutely irritating and frustrating to have mouse freezed sometimes 3
