To further clarify, the above testing was done with just running `spectacle
--activewindow --background --nonotify --output ~/test.png` and seeing if
system froze or not.

For what it's worth I tried spectacle both 20.12.1 and latest git and it seems
to work fine now. KDE Plasma 5.20.90.
