I use Liberation Sans.
I was able to have the same look between gtk2 and gtk3 by adding "export
GDK_DPI_SCALE=0.825" in .bash_profile.
It seems to be a known issue.

Sorry, cannot reproduce. Could you please send the fonts you're using in Fonts
System Settings page and the contents of the ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini?

Sorry, I didn't notice the change (new button instead of menu entry). But there
is still one slight bug. GTK3 application don't use the right font size (too
big), whilst GTK2 applications do.
