I suspect it might have something to do with the hardware support of the
laptop. After all, everything works well on the PC.

I noticed that the screenshot program (Spectacle) is also good at catching
hotkeys. But everything else doesn't work.
The keyboard is built into my laptop (101-key PC).

It still doesn't work. And I don't think it's broken, because I've tried a
bunch of distributions, and hotkeys don't work everywhere. At the same time, if
I tried it in Live-CD, everything worked.
