What kind of anti-virus program do you use? DebugView has never been blocked
here, it even comes from Microsoft.

I reverted to 8.4, but made no other changes. All of the photos were added
as expected. Sorry there was no debug log, my antivirus blocked debugview.
I have now fixed that.
I will back up all Digikam files, reinstall
