My suspicion, but it is only such a suspicion, is that the problem is due to
the slowness of the external monitor wakeup. It may be that plasmashell does
not see it. I cannot explain it better.

After three years, the bug is downgraded from 'assigned' to 'confirmed'.
It's not even that complicated, it was already present in KDE 4, and there is a
