Sounds to me like the hashing function could
be implemented as a sieve script when mail
gets delivered to the mailbox.
I have used the web archive at:
http://asg.web.cmu.edu/archive/
and it is also difficult to us as an archival
search engine. Perhaps breaking it up into years
would be helpful
