Hi Alexis!
This is the output for the gsfonts package files (sorry, long list with
some long lines at the end):
/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/61-urw-bookman.conf
/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/61-urw-c059.conf
/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/61-urw-d05l.conf

What's the output of `xbps-query -f gsfonts`?
Alexis.
I discovered the U-* fonts were missing once I upgraded to Debian 12
(Bookworm) last year:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1051248
I don't think that is in any way this is any way related to the Void
package, however.

Sorry about the long lines!
Well, it might not be a groff problem after all, since 'locate U-AB' or even
'locate U-' does not come up with anything; these groff font folders don't
have the URW fonts.
Maybe it's just some issue with the Void gsfonts package then.

Hi Dave,
I really just wanted to specify my problem. I tested it just now with piping
output from the -Tps device to ps2pdf, and the problem still persists.
Cheers,

Thanks for the reply!
I already have ghostscript installed. I checked the dependencies, on Void, the
package you are referring to is called "gfonts" (the description says "URW+
base35 fonts").
I also tried using the ps device instead and piping the result through ps2pdf,
and but I still got t

Does this mean the problem doesn't happen for the ps device? Or have
you not tried that?
I should have mentioned that the package 'ghostscript' must be
installed. The 'configure' script tests for its existence.
'ghostscript' depends on 'fonts-urw-base35'.
The names are based on Debian.
Dear Oliver,
Yes, you did get my name right! :)
Thanks for the tips! I tried installing another font (EB Garamond), and it
displays correctly. The reason I want to avoid installing fonts other than the
standard ones, though, is that I want some of my friends to be able to use my

Dear Bjarni!
This looks like a wonderful solution, however, I get an error like this for
every font selection when running the modified script:
```
troff::2: warning: cannot select font 'U-AB'
For me it seems like your message implies that these fonts should be installed
by default, maybe
Hi Gergö (I hope I get your first and last name right),
indeed the results of your Hungarian long vowel umlauts look slightly
disappointing.
The situation improves slightly if you use \[u0150], \[u0151], \[u0170]
and \[u0171] instead of Ő ő Ű ű, at least on my system; . However, there
