Thanks for the problem report. The problem appears to be specific to
gossip because it is an internal mailing list and therefore an
oddball. There was a tricky interaction involving
* our sorting engine's batch mode
* a particular spam trap we use
* our backup mail exchanger
*
Problems problems.
