Somebody reworked nvidia-drivers and nvidia-settings ebuilds 2 years ago and left them in (IMHO) quite debatable state. See bug #336088. The ebuild should be cleaned up and either renamed or actually fixed. "nvidia-settings" doesn't contain the nvidia-settings application, which is kinda funny. -
