Apache Zest is discussing a name change right now, as Eclipse Zest was
missed in the name search previously and we want to avoid the name clash.

We don't really care at the ASF or Incubator PMC level but it's fair
to warn people when that happens.

I think Weex is just fine. Let's move on.

Not long ago we had a thread here about English being the work language on

We can't expect projects to check (and change) their name based on such
loose criteria.
I bet a lot of names come "close" to some slang word in some world language.

Depends on the language. In german, it's close to a slang word for
"masturbation", Not sufficiently close, IMO, to cause problems, but

How can the project name be a problem when "weex" sounds to me like the
very common English word *weeks*?
So unless somebody really plans to veto the incubation proposal due to this
very minor linguistic issue and considering the fact that the project has
some history and is already publicly known

There's no hurry but as I said if you're going to change the name, the

The source of the project name is about the common pain of our team members

If you think you'll change, the earlier the better.

Changing project's name is not a easy decision, especially it will
destroy the compatibility, all of SDK package namespace will switch to
a new one, A lot of the client applications need to be modified.
Later, BonoLv will raise one thread to discuss changing the project's name.

A native German speaker tells me Weex means or sounds something
between LOL and NSFW in German - if that's correct that's probably not
a good name for an Apache project.

Longda is very warmhearted in helping us to learn the Apache way. We hope
his application will be successful.
I'm Bono Lv from Weex team(one of initial developer) , Thanks all of you
for interest in the project ;-

Sorry for missing you in the mentors list. Later, we will add you two
into the mentors list.
I have added your two guys into proposal two month ago, but in the
last several weeks, we have discussed a lot of things about proposal,
this section has been overwrite. Sorry for that.
Great, thanks for volunteering, Niclas!

I volunteer as mentor. I have been a bit inactive of the Weex proposal, but

doesn't seem to be an Incubator PMC member - that's required for being
a mentor.
