I am seeing this too.. Interestingly enough Quake3 locks up withing a
first minute of playing with no visible messages. I am often able to
telnet it. However, Descent3 (started without multitexturing) is rock
solid.
Perhaps this helps someone..

Very interesting, I am using it with a AT power supply. I don't think
that would be the problem, windows d3d works pretty well. It seems that
the stability was better on the mach64 branch, amazingly though. Any
possibility I can use the nvagp driver for my ati card?

hey,

Hi!
I upgraded my G400 to Radeon 7500. In 2D the machine is rock stable as
it was with G400 but with 3D the machines hangs up very often.
For example RCTW hangs in a few secs (or up to 20 minutes or so). Is
this a known problem?

Howzit?
I bothered ALexander Stohr and got to working on the features supported list.
This is a basic template / example feature table.
Things that would so far already be differnet in a "release qualiteit" doc could
include: a Key explaining anything needing explaining.

I had the very same problem and sad to say it is not solved.
I bought new mobo/cpu.
Somewhere in the list archives y
PIO = Programmable IO.
Registers that are possibly in x86 IO address space or PCI config
space.
Today these are just memory mapped registers where the CPU has direct
access.
DMA = DirectMemoryAccess.
Typically an engine on a chip which trasnfers data forth and back.

I'm in the process of gathering all the interesting information on the
Utah-GLX project to the FAQ.
Their glossary (http://utah-glx.sourceforge.net/faq.html#AEN364) gives
the definition of PIO, DMA and Pseudo DMA.
The PIO definition presented there raises no polemics but I don't see

I know that this isn't of much interest for most of you but those who
want information about old cards that aren't yet supported by DRI
(mach64, Savage) and don't like to search archives through
Google+Geocrawler may find this interesting.
I've put the Utah-GLX-Devel mailing list archive in unix
