Looks like mysql jdbc driver bug because they use inconsistent locking:
com.mysql.jdbc.ConnectionImpl.close() locks in the following order:
1. com.mysql.jdbc.JDBC4Connection

I think I found a pattern for the slow connections. I've used in the last week
only the java https connector, not the native connector. And the very slow

Sorry about the improper formatting, modified it in a basic editor and
