As some one who has just picked up the maven-plugin-testing-harness and is
attempting to use it I think it would be *really* useful to include a brief
explanation on what the harness does and doesn't do. Eg can it provide a
Mojo with injected depencies and if so how?

Yes, that is the one.
I have not used it. I have followed it for the past couple of years, and
find it very intriguing. Others have had success with it, and wonder if it
would help find the problem you are seeing. I wish I had some time for it,
I think it would be fun to do that.
