Why not make this configurable and just change the default?
I tried enabling chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu-blacklist but this didn't help.
Disabling GPU acceleration leads to tearing on my GPU e.g. when watching
(fullscreen?) videos on my GPU.

Is it possible that this patch affects performance of unredirected fullscreen
OpenGL applications?
I'm pretty sure that I have micro stuttering (or something similar) in
Teeworlds after applying this patch (using the PPA), at least if VSync is
enabled in Teeworlds (not sure about non-VSync).

a VM with Ubuntu 13.04), the menus look the same in classic theme as in
GTK+ theme.

Since Aura, menu sizes are too large. Classic theme is much too large, and the
GTK theme is still larger than the real GTK menus before Aura. See attachment
for a comparison.
Ideally all menus should have their old sizes back.

After upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04 (xorg-edgers PPA enabled), I had
tearing in Teeworlds with vsync enabled, nvidia proprietary drivers.
Disabling Xorg's backing store as outlined in #12 fixed it.

I know someone who had the same problem on Ubuntu 12.10 (freh installation)
after installing fglrx[-updates], missing the Unity taskbar and
close/minimize/maximize buttons in windows (possibly the whole window
decoration).
I think his problem was fixed by installing the Linux kernel headers.
