Nvidia gpu rtx3080m, driver 570.133.07, Wayland and xorg sessions. Upon
suspend/resume, journalctl shows the message:

The fix was applied to 1:0.10.1 to use the systemd-hwdb. Ubuntu 25.05
Desktop and Plucky no longer have the complaint.

Windows are slow to open shortly after login under X11 session

Another symptom of the xorg problem: while a firefox (snap) window is
waiting for the initial contents to display, neither the drag nor resize
works on the window. The cursor does not change to the resize arrows
either. After the contents displays, drag and resize then work. No
such drag/resize
The above patch fixes things for me. I'm running with the graphics-drivers ppa
for the 560 driver, but apt policy shows the 550 driver in the noble repos:

I see the same journalctl messages/error with Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop,
Nvidia driver 560 from the graphics-drivers PPA, using xorg. My symptom
is that evolution mail message windows appear blank for 30-60 seconds

Today's Ubuntu 24.04 update Brought in from the graphics-drivers PPA the
Nvidia driver 555.58.02, updating the previously manually installed 555.
In additon, the ubuntu-drivers list output now lists the 550, 550-open,
555, and 555-open drivers, as does the Sotware & Updates/Additional

Booting the just released ISO of Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop, ubuntu-drivers
list and the Software & Updates/Additional Drivers tab are missing the
Nvidia drivers 545 and 550, but the above warning(error?) is repeated 6
times. The apt pkgnmames will list the 545 and 550 drivers. sudo apt
install nvidia-dr
Ubuntu 22.04 does not display the problem of highlights remaining when
the mouse leaves via taskbar or window.

Fully patched Ubuntu 22.04, Dec 18, evince 43.3.2 runs fine until a print or
print preview is tried on a ps file, resulting in the same error:

If the mouse leaves the highlighted icon by moving over a window without
touching the desktop, the icon highlight also remains. This problem has
been fixed in Ubuntu 22.04, with the following packages:

The Firefox 99.01 64 bit snap in Ubuntu 22.04 downloads only work for the
Downloads directory. All other directories are either unavailable (Save button
greyed out), or if by clicking on the path a few times, the Save button becomes
available, the save fails, saying you don't have permission...
The wrong behavior is no longer present in Firefox 85.0.1 on the Ubuntu
20.04 system. The Firefox titlebar now changes color with focus as
expected.

Default Gnome desktop, the taskbar touches the desktop icon highlight
square. If the mouse cursor over the icon leaves the icon by moving over
the taskbar, the icon remains highlighted. The highlight remains when

Never had this problem on my fully patched Ubuntu 16.04 until just
recently, when I noticed that the Firefox menus do not display after
restoring from a suspend. gnome-terminal and gedit are OK. Iconizing
Firefox, then restoring, restores the menus to working condition. Same

This week, I started getting 1 cm boarders around windows after a
suspend. The boarders are white with colored speckles and lines.
Hardware is Nvidia Quadro 1000m, with the nvidia 375.39 driver. This
driver must have just been updated from the 367.57 driver which never

driver 367.57 (black screen). Starting an xterm allows you to run other
things, even unity.
Using the nouveau driver, login to vt2 and run:

may be launched (xterm, then xclock) and they appear in ps, keyboard input to

Adding the 5.2 PPA has resolved the problem of CPU usage when switching
fonts. I retested both writer and calc, and neither displayed the

On a fresh install (updated to Feb 7 ?) of Ubuntu 13.10 on an HP Presario
V3000, 2G memory, SSD root, evolution (when invoked from the gnome-terminal
starts with hundreds of lines of complaints similar to the above
and usually (but not always) crashes. A dump of the crash is below:

You can click on the column headers to change the sort too. One thing
to check is the View/"Group By Thread", which will override the name
order for instance, making it seem like the sort had a few glitches.
Turn it off for a true name sort.
