printer is directly connected to PC by USB and in fact I do not have a
home network set up at this time - I did once upon a time and I was able
to print to the same printer connected to a different (Windows) PC, then
moved it directly to this one and it still worked fine, now it works
with all apps
I also tried printing a .pdf that I know I had printed previously (it
was one that I generated myself from OpenOffice.org and had posted on my
website back when I had one) and saw the same behavior so it seems
pretty likely that it is not a problem with the files.

Just tried it again as I was not certain whether I had tried preview or
not. Also used a different .pdf file than previously. Did not select
print preview, just went straight to print, the document is in my print
queue with status of "stopped."

Just upgraded to 12.04 from 10.04 a few days ago. Am able to print test
pages, web forms, and Libre Office documents but when I try to print a
.pdf opened with Evince, the document goes into the print queue and

Follow-up: If I set my screensaver to "fiberlamp" (a non-GL
screensaver) everything works as it should. So this seems to imply that
this is a problem only with GL screensavers. If there's any more info I
can offer to help nail this down, please let me know.

I am having the same issue, when the computer goes to screensaver
tapping a key or moving the mouse will freeze the screensaver but will
not display the login screen. However if I type in my password I can
get back to my account. Obviously this is undesirable and won't work
for computers shared w
