mode because the proper Intel kernel graphics driver was never loaded:

MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_KMS_MODE is not having the desired effect because I
forgot GNOME 42 uses a different variable. Please try:
MUTTER_DEBUG_ENABLE_ATOMIC_KMS=0
in /etc/environment and reboot.

I still find the same error in all my Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop LXD VMs. The
LXD Server is on a Ubuntu 24.04 Server, it did not upgrade but was
installed clean on the 24.04 release once it was launched.
Also, I have been finding errors with cloud-init on those LXD VMs. The
cloud-init doesn't sync.

Applying netplan.io from the noble-proposed series does solve the issue
for new connections.
I used the following command line to install the updated package after enabling
proposed:

Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubun
I can avoid the bug by disabling ALL extensions. Just disabling one
extension doesn't help. So this feels like gnome-shell is blocking G-app
registration if extensions are loaded.
