I have faced the same thing on both Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.04 as well as on
openSUSE 12.3 with darktable 1.2.2 and nvidia proprietary drivers
(different versions: 304, 310) for GT430 card.
In my case systems froze completely so that I needed to reboot with the
magic SysRQ keys or using the hard butto
I had to downgrade to latest 3.10 kernel due to some other issues, but i
managed to compile it with IWLWIFI_DEBUG enabled.
I've attached disconnect_debug.log containing log data from 2 disconnects
(syslog entries and iw event -t entries).

with -u8 option or use wrapper uxterm.
Second, you need to specify correct font codepage for your font. I also
use Terminus.
What you want to add is this to .Xdefaults:
