Thank you for your bug report, what video card/driver is on use on this
machine? Does it just spike or creating events while activated? Can't
you just inhibit the screensaver for your tests?

Either I made some silly mistake, or the workarounds described in bug
1190575 do not work for me (1190575 discussed this for Quantal, I am on
Precise).

being set to false!
